Well, Aunt Denise, Spiders don't have nests, but they do lay eggs--go figure. I looked but didn't see anything. I am hoping it crept in as an anomaly with other things that like to get out of the cold this time of year!
Oh! Yuck! I hope it's an isolated incident. We find little lizards and an occasional palmetto bug (those big flying Florida "cockroaches") but nothing dangerous. Are you going to release it outdoors, keep it for scientific observation, or flush it?
I found one in our backyard last summer and John found one on the floor in hanger where he works. They don't scare me as much as brown recluse, which are common down here. I'm always a little scared when putting on my shoes or gloves.
